Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 August 2026
Buildocker is pre-launch and does not yet charge for access or serve paying customers. Full legal entity details, a named Grievance Officer, and a registered address will be published here before the service is offered commercially. These documents are provided in good faith and have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer qualified in Indian data protection law.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Buildocker (buildocker.com and its subdomains), operated as described below ("Buildocker", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Buildocker, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use Buildocker
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, and for keeping your account credentials confidential.
2. What Buildocker is
Buildocker is project tracking and a client portal for contractors — budgets, photos, payment stage tracking, and client-visible updates. It is not an accounting, legal, engineering, or safety-compliance tool, and using it does not substitute for professional advice or your own regulatory obligations as a contractor.
3. Accounts and roles
Every account has one role:
- Contractor — creates and owns projects, invites clients and team members, controls what's shown on their public profile page, and manages payment schedules.
- Client — views the projects they're invited to, and can message and view updates on those projects.
You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including content posted by anyone you invite to a project you own.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that's illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that you don't have the right to share.
- Use Buildocker to send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) via the enquiry, quotation, or WhatsApp features.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or security measures.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell access to the service without our permission.
- Impersonate another person or business, or misuse the public profile feature to mislead visitors.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of everything you upload — project photos, documents, descriptions, and messages. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit it solely to provide the service to you and the people you've given access to (e.g. showing a client the photos on their project). We don't use your content to train AI models, and we don't sell it.
Content on a contractor's public profile page (buildocker.com/c/[your-slug] or your subdomain) is visible to anyone who visits that page — only mark a project "public" if you're comfortable with that.
6. AI-generated content
The "Generate AI Update" feature uses a third-party AI model to write text based on your project data. AI-generated content may be inaccurate or inappropriate. When you trigger it, the update is posted to the project timeline and your client is notified straight away — it is not queued for your approval first. You remain responsible for what appears on your project under your name, so check each generated update and edit or delete it if it is wrong. We're not liable for consequences of AI-generated content published from your account.
7. Third-party features
Some features (WhatsApp message sending, custom domains) rely on third-party services (Meta, your domain registrar, Vercel). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms, and we're not responsible for their availability or behavior.
8. Fees
Buildocker is currently free to use. There are no paid plans, and no payment method is collected. If paid plans are introduced, this section and the Refund & Cancellation Policy will be updated before anyone is charged, and you will be notified.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings — see our Privacy Policy for what that does and doesn't remove. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, with notice where practical.
10. Disclaimers
Buildocker is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate. You use Buildocker at your own risk for your business.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buildocker is provided without warranty and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Because the service is currently provided free of charge, no fee-based liability cap applies.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Indian courts. A specific venue will be named here once Buildocker has a registered office.
13. Changes to these Terms
We'll update the "Last updated" date when these Terms change, and notify account holders of material changes.
14. Contact
Buildocker is an independent product operated by an individual based in India. It is not yet incorporated as a company. You can reach us at support@buildocker.com.
